About RIVET

RIVET is made by Will Kirby, an independent developer in the UK, trading as Kirby Systems. It started in 2024 as a single PowerShell script written to stop retyping the same maintenance commands, and became a native Windows app on the Microsoft Store in July 2026.

Will Kirby, the developer of RIVET

Everything about how RIVET is built comes from one idea: a tool with this much access to your PC should show you what it is doing, and never phone home. So every change is previewed before it runs and written to a history, most changes can be undone, and there is no telemetry, no analytics and no account. RIVET is built alongside school, one release at a time, in public.
