RIVET in one sentence
RIVET is a free Windows 10 and 11 system manager by Kirby Systems. It shows what your PC is doing, explains it in plain English, and lets you change it safely, with every change previewed first and most of them undoable.
RIVET in one paragraph
RIVET is a native Windows app on the Microsoft Store that shows what a PC is doing and lets you change it without fear. It manages startup apps (disable or delay), services, disk cleanup and Windows settings, including switches for Windows AI features such as Recall and Copilot. Every change is previewed before it runs and written to a history; Windows settings, startup apps and service start types can be undone even after a restart, and RIVET says plainly when something cannot be undone. There is no telemetry and no account. RIVET Pro adds Ask RIVET, an assistant that runs a Qwen3 model on the user's own PC through llama.cpp. RIVET is free with a 14-day full trial; Pro is a one-off $4.99.
RIVET XP in one sentence
RIVET XP is a free Windows XP style task manager for Windows 10 and 11 by Kirby Systems, with performance graphs, a live process list, focus timers and an XP rank ladder. It has no AI and makes no network connections.

About the developer
Will Kirby is an independent developer in the UK who builds RIVET alongside school. RIVET began in 2024 as a single PowerShell script and reached the Microsoft Store as a native app in July 2026. More on the about page.
